COLOR ME PINK BENEFIT
On November 5th, The Emma Jacobs Foundation / Taking Initiative To Survive (T.I.T.S.) held their seventh annual fundraiser, honoring breast cancer fighters and survivors and benefiting the research of Dr. Anthony Lucci of The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
For the first time our event took place in a spectacular public venue at OFF THE WALL GALLERY in the Galleria. Thank you to our generous hostess Mimi Sperber-Wasserberg, owner of OFF THE WALL GALLERY, and new board member of The Emma Jacobs Foundation for presenting such an exciting event venue.
Thank you to all our generous donors: Nice Winery for providing such a dynamic list of wines, SlimRITAs for the outstanding margaritas, Dimitri Fetokakis of Niko Nikos for his authentic Greek specialties, Capones for the delectable wood-burning pizzas and last but no means least a huge thank you to Crave Cupcakes for their baked fresh daily cupcakes. All were generously provided for the event. This year we introduced a new possibility for sponsorship for our event in underwriting our bar. The Farinola family eagerly underwrote this in honor their two daughters who are breast cancer survivors. We would like to give our most heartfelt thanks to all the very generous donors who underwrote our food and beverages.
Being that this year’s event took place in a gallery, Dr. Anthony Lucci ran with his talent in art, sharing with us his own artwork that was auctioned off as a Live Action item. It was the highlight of the event when the artwork was unveiled and Ken Bohan and Vicki Rizzo went head to head in the bidding. One won the item while the other matched the donation, and then after the auction closed, we sold the piece for a third time..Sally Sepulveda commissioned him to paint another…. all in great favor of supporting the groundbreaking research of Dr. Lucci at M.D. Anderson!
We would also like to thank all our ticket buyers and donors. We could not do it without you. Thank you all for your generous support.
